Actions to mitigate EXPOSURE



  • If an appraisal report indicates that the action required to eliminate or reduce actual or potential exposure of an employee exposure to hazardous chemicals to health, an employer shall take any action, which may include change processes, practices, procedures of work, plant or equipment control engineering, within one month after receiving an assessment report from the assessors

  • Employers should ensure that all control measures are implemented under subregulation (1) reduce employee exposure to chemicals hazardous to health to the lowest practicable level or, for chemicals which have been given the exposure limit allowed under the limit

Control measures;


Employers should regulate chemicals harmful to health through the control measures following;



  • removal of chemicals harmful to health from work

  • substitution of less hazardous chemicals for chemicals hazardous to health

  • segregation of duties to control the production of chemicals hazardous to health

  • The adoption of the system and safe work practices that eliminate or reduce risks to health

  • providing for protective equipment approve
